Brandy was never away, but comes back anyway
2012 looks like it will be very full for Brandy as her profile rises around the country. Firstly she starts acting in a hit TV show then signs to a massive label and surely a new album can’t be far behind.
Brandy’s last hit was with Human back in 2008 but now she has signed with RCA, the flagship Sony label that has been in existence since 1901. CEO of the label, Peter Edge has expressed his faith in Brandy’s music and talent, “Throughout her career, Brandy has consistently won the vote as everyone’s favourite female vocalist. I am sure that in her next chapter… (she) will record her most exciting music to date.”
Never one to simply take it easy, play Cheeky Bingo and relax by her pool, Brandy has been warming up her acting skills too. Back in the late 90s she was in her own show Moesha, now she is to play a key role in 90210, the reboot of the famous 90s TV show. Brandy will play Marissa Jackson-Lewis, a liberal politician who is running for Congress, she will be fighting against the father of Teddy Montgomery’s (played by Trevor Donovan, for all those who don’t follow the show) who is a GOP candidate. The character is meant to be somewhere between Hilary Clinton and the president, Barack Obama.
Meanwhile, Brandy is recently back from a trip to South Africa where she has been at an awards ceremony. Joined by Vivica A Fox, Regina King and athlete Lolo Jones, Brandy was at the South African Sports Awards in the Sun City Superbowl. She has also been working on ‘Majors & Minors’, a new talent show for youngsters aged eight to 16. If you want to learn what it’s like being Brandy then you’ll be overjoyed to hear that a new documentary, On My Own, is going to give us an insight into her life. It looks like with all this activity Brandy may be on her way up again.
